undoubtedly a spooky book that reminds me of the time as a kid when you were afraid of the dark and thought you saw someone. It had some very spooky scenes (like the one on the graveyard or when Matt invites Mike who then turns into a vampire.) . I'm not exactly horrified after reading this but a slight spook is still there.
The book begins (IMO) very slow with a confusing introduction (that however makes complete sense after rereading it directly after finishing the book, since it happens after all events) and a slow beginning where we are introduced to basically anyone in the Lot. Some characters like Matt, Eva or Susan and Father Callaghan were good and likeable, others I forgott about immediately after reading about them. Especially Matt and Mark were my favorites.
In general I liked the book and was spooked a good bit, but it did not blow me away I guess. (The short story attached in my edition One for the road and Jerusalems Lot added also some backstory and epilogue to the story, which I liked (in particular On the Road)). If I had been less tired while reading it, I might have found it spookier.
