This is such a good book. I thought the premise sounded fun and fresh and I was attracted to the cover. The colors throughout are vibrant and eye-catching and the art is beautiful. The book is about accepting death and also intergenerational friendship and fitting in and being yourself. So much good stuff here.
I loved that the author's acknowledgments began with a full paragraph of land acknowledgment and even went so far as to say that she pays her respects to indigenous Elders! So cool. I thought it was so great that the author included so much behind-the-scenes of how the book was created, which makes me want to pass this on all the more so kids can get an eye into how graphic novels are made! Highly recommend.
