The Mummy by Anne Rice

3.0

This novel does not measure up to the thematic complexity and masterful prose I expect from Anne Rice, but it's still good. There is still the familiar theme of past morality versus current progress. I just wanted some of the characters to be better developed. And some of the romance to be less pedestrian. But overall this is fun. Reading Anne Rice's poetic descriptions of the ancient world in earlier novels just made me expect more from this.
