accidentalrambler 's review for:
Hot Asset
by Lauren Layne
This was a nice read! Granted, it's VERY similar to Oxford series by this author, though now instead of a group of friends working in a men's magazine (more accurately, hot men in suits), we have a trio of arrogant, attractive and filthy rich Wall Street brokers. Still, I had fun reading Oxford series and I suspect I'll have fun with this one too. It's just nothing new under the Sun, so to speak.
There were some things that I particularly enjoyed about this book, though:
1) the whole dynamic between the group of friends, I feel like it's one of the strongest aspects of LL's writing, with all the teasing and the unconditional support, she writes these characters that just seem like fun to be around
2) the fact that there wasn't any big misunderstanding/fallout/angst re: Ian thinking Lara sold him out - sometimes the authors drag things like this out with no reason other than Drama but here the issue was solved quickly, they sat and talked and actually listened to each other
3) ALL THE SIDE PAIRINGS I NEED THEM NOW
