If you enjoyed [b:Guts|42190572|Guts (Smile, #3)|Raina Telgemeier|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1538782879l/42190572._SX50_.jpg|65791922] or [b:Stargazing|40864836|Stargazing|Jen Wang|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1537662757l/40864836._SX50_.jpg|63657578], you will probably enjoy this, too. It hits some similar themes with a middle school girl struggling with anxiety and social issues. It is nice to see the ethnic diversity of the students, and to see that even among immigrants from the same country, there can be significant differences.
I know a couple of reviewers feel it is more useful as a teaching tool than as an engaging read, and I disagree. In discussing it with my anxiety teen, she really enjoyed it. She felt the issues raised were valid, useful, and nice to see represented even if they don't present in the same way for her.
