This Is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone, Amal El-Mohtar
5.0

this is like the most starcrossed pair ever thank you thank you they have to fight and claw their way back to connect w eachother, put their words in different languages and mediums, done all with the knowledge and expectation that they might never get a reply back. when i undoom her from the narrative the wedding will be back on!

bro the yearning is so crazy i think i just really. AAAAWAAWA2WAWAWAWAWAWAWWAWAWAWA. Yeah

i guess another thing that made me really like this book Is that it reminds me of the kind of stuff i’d dream about: the idea of going into different timelines, worlds, dimensions, places, etc it itches my brain the same way games like yume nikki does with the premise (yes i’m using that game as a point of reference because really the entire idea is so cool)

“You gave me so much—a history, a future, a calm that lets me write these words though I’m breaking. I hope I’ve given you something in return—I think you would want me to know I have. And what we’ve done will stand, no matter how they weave the world against us. It’s done now, and forever.”

ALSO i gave this book to a longtime crush (~2 years) once with a confession inside and she returned it to me on the last day of school. and said she never read it which is pretty funny
