Stormcaster by Cinda Williams Chima

AUGUGGHHHHHHHHHHH, Cinda!

I have already preordered the final installment of this series (Deathcaster), and I vow before it comes out to re-read the whole Shattered Realms series before I get into it so I'm not so lost at the onset.

When reading these as they are released, it's hard to find your footing (even for a super fan like me) because so much time has passed and because Chima is constantly adding new characters. But by the time I near the last quarter of the book, we've got our old favorites back with crazy new twists and I'm ALL IN. And then the book ends. I can't even call it a cliff hanger, it's like, you're hanging off an entire mountain range because so many stories and plot lines are still up in the air. It's so good though, even with the myriad of POV changes which can be so annoying in less skilled hands. Chima is juggling a thousand different characters at this point and it could be a disaster, but she's doing it SO WELL.

I recommend reading the Seven Realms books first, and then getting into the Shattered Realms. Shattered Realms is a bit more grown up? I think? Even though it's still definitely YA.

EPIC magical adventure, you guys. I love these books.
