a nice slow burn, but the plot twist was great! the characters are complicated - not necessarily likeable - the two main characters are a mess, in different ways  - but not necessarily hate-able. They both have traits that are relatable and realistic. You know that a plot twist is coming, and in that way it could be seen as predictable, but I felt like the twist itself was brilliant and twisted in the way it actually played out. This book gives you the guilty pleasure of a thriller written in such a way that doesn't remove it too far from reality to be believable/enjoyable.
