This book is just great fun. The sunshine/grump trope is entertaining, and creates likable characters. The fantasy side characters are amusing - shout out to the sassy frog. Evie verges on annoying perfect - my least favourite trope is pseudo flawed women but she gets enough character development that she becomes a bit more fleshed out. There's not a lot of subtly to the writing, but that's not what you come to the comedy fantasy based off a tiktok skit series for. The editing is a bit patchy, at one point a side characters name randomly changes for a chapter. But I still enjoyed the book massively and will absolutely be coming back for book 2
