I really tried with this one because I love Gregory Ashe but this co-written mystery series just isn’t keeping my attention or interest. There’s very little time spent on the romantic relationship development, which is fine but I’d prefer a more even split between the romance story arc and the mystery. I also feel like there’s A LOT of attention to NYC geography, like a lot of detail about the subway line they are taking and streets they are on and instead of it feeling like organic setting details it feels like more of a “I’m really familiar with NYC” point being made. Anyway, I couldn’t finish this one but I’ll look out for reviews on any further books in the series to see if there’s any more focus on the romance.
