I went into this not knowing what to expect.
I don't know when I bought this book or why, it was just sitting in my library.
When it started, I was concerned I wouldn't understand the narration because of the unfamiliarity of the accent, but alas I got used to it and this book is probably my favourite narrated book I've listened to yet. The emotion Samira put into the narration was palpable and made the story that much more intense.

This book broke my heart. It was also the most beautifully written book weaving in the power of love, faith, sisterhood and family. It deals with extremely difficult topics such as rape, sexual assault, racism, that feel so real, weaving it throughout the characters lives as if these were true retellings.

I loved the way the characters developed. I loved the unique way this book was written as a bunch of letters. I loved how this book takes you on a reality roller-coaster of what someone's ups and downs could be.

I cannot recommend this book enough. Absolutely incredible. I finished it in two days. One of my favourite books to ever been written and read.

I fell in love.
