The Reluctant Fundamentalist
by Mohsin Hamid
Wow. The Reluctant Fundamentalist is told in second person as one person's side of a conversation. I was a little unsure wen I started to read, but it's a must read.
We follow the story of Changez and his life as a Princeton-education Pakistani in the days/months preceding and following 9/11. We see the actions of individuals, states, and corporations from the viewpoint of one who lives both inside and outside the norm in NYC.
The whole novel is incredible, but the ending is chilling and incredibly thought-provoking. No spoilers. Just go read it.
