The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

5.0

This book was so weird and I loved it. I had absolutely no idea what it was about before I started reading it, except that it's by Neil Gaiman and that I love him. This whole book felt kind of plotless, but in the most wonderful way. It was so insightful and spoke so much to me - the thoughts the little boy had resonated so much with how I see myself. It was also magical; so random and sad and wonderful all at the same time. I loved the prose and its seemingly plotless-ness, I loved the characters, I really just loved everything about it.

Except for how short it was.

I wish it was longer because Neil Gaiman has such talent and this book made me fall in love with his writing even more. If the beginning doesn't suck you in, or you're deterred by the little kitten (just like I was), please, PLEASE continue reading and finish the whole thing. It's such a wonderful book that seriously can be enjoyed by anyone. I think everyone can find something to relate to.
