Happily Never After by Lynn Painter
5.0

I listened to this book in audio form while packing up my house for a move - and it was well worth it. It was really well written; the banter was giving exactly what it was meant to, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Though I’ve put it down as 5 stars, I’d really give it around a 4.5 - but Goodreads doesn’t do half stars and it didn’t deserve to be knocked down to a 4!

If you like fun romances with excellent chemistry and great banter, I’d really recommend this one! It held my attention brilliantly, when I’d have normally switched it off halfway through and changed to listening to music instead - I just loved them and wanted to know what happened next!

The only tiny problem I have with it (SPOILERS) is that the final chapter says they got married only a year later. Now, that seems a bit soon to me - especially to two people who spent a long time not believing in love, one of whom had only been going through the stress of wedding planning around 1.5 years before. Weddings take a lot to plan! I feel like she would’ve wanted a break rather than fast-tracking a new wedding.

Other than that, I didn’t have any faults. Would recommend!
