Having read the Lewis trilogy I was looking forward to reading another Peter May book which was set in the Outer Hebrides. I was not disappointed as this book hooks you from page 1 and is difficult to put down.
I love the sense of place that Peter May gives in this book. It makes me want to visit these windswept islands. His descriptions are like seeing a photo or painting of these places - the plot can become almost irrelevant book as these are so good.
The plot itself is a little far fetched but this did not stop my enjoyment of the book and I read it at far quicker than my usual pace.
