To Snap a Silver Stem

Lowkey the ending ate, I love this turn of events it’s exactly the type of dramatic I like to see in a series especially for the romance plot.
I took a little too long of a break before I finished the last 10% of this book bc I can’t really remember what happened in this book or how I feel abt it how am I supposed to rate it 😭
I like Baze’s storyline and especially his potential love interest, their tension was a toooo good in the little crumb that we got. I don’t particularly care for Kai’s love life but I do like him in general and im curious to see how his plot line on the island will tie into the bigger story. Honestly the first half of the book I had such mixed feelings abt the fmc’s promised (I can’t remember his name now), but that’s a sign of good writing tbh bc it’s like omg who do I root for even tho ik rhordy is endgame.
There were points especially towards the end where I thought the fmc was pretty badass, love that for her, she’s come so far. I’ll still say that the book is pretty slow paced, the plot develops quite slowly same as the first book (thought I understand why it was paced slowly in the first book), but I didn’t particularly mind it.
I actually really like the overall plot of the series, it’s quite different and it actually feels like a dark romance which is amazing because I’ve never read a dark fantasy like this and something tells me this might be a bit unique in how it made me feel.
Edit: I just remember that much early in the book maybe around 30-40%, rhordy enters the chat and I started to really like him because we learn that he’s been stalking her and looking out for her since she came to the east. His pov in general in this book and his actions towards/for the fmc made me actually like him as a love interest (thank god) - granted, his pov in the first book was just vague and confusing and tying to the actual plot, not as much of the romantic aspect so of course I wasn’t rlly a fan of him.
