Orlando by Virginia Woolf
4.0

Clever and satirical tale of a well off man who wakes one morning to discover he is suddenly a woman and must live the rest of her like that way. It is, of course, a dissection of the differences the way men and women are treated in society- for Orlando is the same person mentally and emotionally as a woman as she was when a man, only social expectation and perceptions of her have change. It's greatest achievement is that is both sensitive and yet truly amusing/funny. An exceptional idea and mostly a wonderful execution, but falls a bit short of making a real emotional impact on me, in the end. It was more an intellectual pleasure than an emotional one.
