The Golden Pear Cafe Cookbook: Easy Luscious Recipes for Brunch and More from the Hamptons' Favorite Cafe by Golden Pear Cafe, Keith Davis

5.0

I picked up this cookbook at one of those crappy "Book Sales" where someone takes over a huge Big Box Store that closed and there were just piles of books every where. I saw one recipe that caught my eye and decided it was totally worth what the price was.

I have made a TON of recipes from this cookbook... The Pumpkin Muffins recipe is one of our absolute favorites (I seriously fed our, then, two year old on those muffins for 12 months straight). There's a great raisin scones recipe, a good chili, a good sugar cookie (that we use for our Christmas cookies), and a couple of other good muffins.

I found the descriptions of why you do certain baking steps to be very short, sweet, and to the point, rather than a lengthy scientific explanation that I've seen in other cookbooks. Its a good "normal person" explanation - like "use filtered water when making coffee/tea". Its obvious, but you never think about it. So, I appreciated it.
