Did not finish book. Stopped at 79%.
In my heart, I have rated this 2๐ŸŒŸ

The reality is that I started by more or less enjoying this. I would wholeheartedly say that I love Izzy. Izzy is great. Love her. Iโ€™m all for following the struggles of a Black woman in publishing trying to make it in an industry that is hostile to Black women.

But Beau Towers? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ This man was driving me up the wall. One second I hated him and the next I liked him. I felt like I was trapped in an abusive cycle. Heโ€™d say some horrible shit but then show his soft side, and I was ready to love him again. I cannot.

I also cannot with the complete lack of smut in here. I had no idea this was a clean romance when I bought it, and it was a Big Mistake to not have read reviews to figure this out. Truly upsetting. I was bamboozled. I simply am not a clean romance girly. Love that for the ones who love it, but I abhor it.

So, there you have it. 2๐ŸŒŸ for the lack of smut, my conflict with Beau, and my struggle convincing myself to pick up the audiobook.
