Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler

Did not finish book. Stopped at 20%.
It is impressive that Octavia Butler was able to predict so much, but it hits too close to home now and just makes me sadder about the predicament we’re in. 

I’ve also come to form my own spiritual beliefs and don’t believe it’s worthwhile to build civilization on mars, so I’ve decided to stop reading the book.
