Summer of '69 by Elin Hilderbrand

I’m absolutely shocked at how much I enjoyed this book. It was a little long, but that was my only complaint. I loved the historical fiction aspects of it, as well as the “issues” the characters were facing that went along with it. I’m not an expert, but from what I know about the 1960’s, it was depicted very well and accurately. I don’t know if this book will stick with me forever, but other than the length, I had no complaints which earned it 5 stars.

Also, this is the epitome of don’t judge a book by its cover. Normally I would never read something with such a happy cover, but there is a lot of realistic darkness in this book, which is my favorite.
