Two five star reviews in a row…who even am I? I listened to this audiobook in one go during my 12-hour drive to Illinois last week and I was hooked the entire time.This is the kind of thriller I absolutely adore. Is it a murder mystery? Yes. Is it a character study? Yes. Throw in some supernatural elements that are never *quite* explained and I am in love.
The writing is excellent and the storytelling is even better (I felt the same way about her most recent release, We Are All the Same in the Dark). There were twists I didn’t see coming and characters that I was so invested in that I audibly gasped during the epilogue. All in all, an excellent read and I highly recommend it!
