This is a very engaging, thoroughly researched biography of Lincoln that focused mainly on his moral development leading up to emancipation. There were many parallels of how the country was polarized then to how it is today and it is a shame that racism continues.
I've always been fascinated with Lincoln and have read many books about him, this is one of the best.
