The Natural Way of Things by Charlotte Wood

3.0

Didn't do too much for me. Writing was excellent, characters were great (if somewhat...stereotypical almost?) and the story was solid enough. It just felt super contrived with a clearly modern setting where events that would never happen were happening. Yes, I know it's a metaphor but that's why people like Margaret Atwood set their stories in the future. The male characters were laughable, too. Which may have been on purpose? I like the touches around women and animals, particularly Yolanda who became 'rabbit-like'. Not ground breaking but decent read.
