This is an incredibly fast-paced book; there were definitely times where I had to pause and go back through the list of characters helpfully provided at the front to remember who was who and what parts of the story they were involved in. I think to fully enjoy this one you would need to either have a near-photographic memory for detail or, (like me!), be willing to accept that you're never going to 100% understand what's going on, and just enjoy the story for the beautiful and compelling tale it is.
