Seven Days in June
by Tia Williams
This book gave me whiplash. One minute I’m a little bored, lost in the vast amount of background information that resulted from the multiple POV and flashback structure and then one minute I’m entranced, reading through profound emotion and angst and struggle and I’m in love.
My feelings on this book are so mixed. There are entire chunks (including the entire first third of the book) that would get a 2 star review at best. But the connection between Shane & Eva, the understanding they both shared without ever explaining, was so incredibly beautiful. Their dynamic was addictive to read and the worst part about this book was how little time we really got with them.
The ending left me so incredibly unsatisfied. Truly, without the epilogue, we end on the two of them concluding they can never be together? And then a time-jumping mess of an epilogue just has them change their minds? I fell so in love with Eva and Shane and wanted more for their story.
