This book is equal parts ridiculous, rushed, disorganized, and quite good. I found it so hard to get into that I couldn't read it and had to get an audio version. It is kind of like if you took a great fantasy-horror epic and had it edited down to novella length and then decided it was too scary in parts and changed some of the words so they were more goofy. By the end, though, I was pretty into it.
