This book renewed my faith in The Heir Chronicles. There were zombies and romance but the action and pacing reminded me of the original trilogy rather than some other YA romance novel. One thing though, maybe it's a limitation of my imagination but all the song lyrics and description of music did nothing for me. I found myself skimming those parts which is strange because I have a degree in music but I just couldn't stand those parts. It broke the flow of the story for me.
