The Kingdom of Gods by N.K. Jemisin

5.0

i can't say anything about the plot since it concerns a character we've known since the beginning of the series. but trust me when i say it's even better than the previous books and they were all five stars for me.

the writting is something else, completely magical. the plot is engaging and kept pulling on my heartstrings. there is something very human about this story of gods.

❝ I told you I would kill her for you, if you asked. All I ever wanted was to be able to trust you. I you had given me that, I would have done anything for you. ❞

the themes of betrayal, duty, family, friendship and childhood are mixed expertly in a story that is beautiful and terrible. if you haven't read the inheritance trilogy, you're really missing out.

❝ I barely know them. I befriended them on a whim and fell in love with them by mistake. ❞
