The Premonition: A Pandemic Story
by Michael Lewis
Reliably readable telling. Formulaic in a good way; if you've read one of his books, you'll know what to expect.
A compelling subject matter, the US' failure to prepare and respond adequately in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic – but with an inadequate ending, presumably driven by the rush to get the book out. It almost needs a second edition with a proper third act adding in, with the benefit of time having passed. Some quite jarring transitions are also likely the result of having limited material to knit together in extremely short order.
So while interesting, just seemed too rushed and thus kept from becoming a proper story.
