I am really torn on this one. I enjoyed the story and the main mystery (even though it wasn't really a mystery and seemed super obvious to me), but the romance between Callie and Des grossed me out a bit. He meets her when she is 16  and is much older (though it's never stated what his age is) and they both secretly fall in love with each other. They never do anything when she is underage but he clearly falls for her and it feels a bit "icky". I had to just not think about her age when reading. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story and the world. I will be continuing the series.

This book counts for my O in Conjuration for the 2024 Autumn Equinox for Orilium.
