Into the Magic Shop
by James R. Doty
The meditation techniques were interesting, as was the author's backstory and how he was able to rise above his childhood circumstances. The book seemed to be in an awkward place between the author's personal life and introspections and the neuroscience though. It glossed over parts of his life like his relationship with his ex-wife and his daughter, whom it seems he failed to develop a relationship with. But then again, it didn't really delve deeply into the neuroscience. It felt like the book was trying to be too many things, and in doing that, it failed to be anything in particular.
