The Wolf, the Duck, and the Mouse by Jon Klassen, Mac Barnett

5.0

Swallowed whole by a wolf, a mouse is surprised to find that he is not alone. A duck, who previously met the same fate, has set up housekeeping inside the wolf, and as he says to the mouse, “I live well! I may have been swallowed, but I have no intention of being eaten.”

When a hunter threatens their home, Duck and Mouse respond with vigor and determination. The subtle humor that Barnett slips into his simple text is reinforced by the equally dry wit of Klassen’s illustrations.
