The Body Scout
by Lincoln Michel
Surprisingly gripping. Lincoln Michel LOVES a smilie - like really really loves them.
It’s a better read once you accept that Kobo isn’t really the main character - he’s just another pawn in the game of life who’s really going through a lot. Whilst charismatic at points, he isn’t greatly likeable because he too has fallen into the trap of the systems that, as a reader, you can see are corrupt. Maybe that’s the point.
Slightly disappointing end that feels a little bit like a loose end collection & tie up - but I suppose all stories must end!
