I really didn't think I'd like this book in the beginning. I've never been into theater and I've only read two Shakespeare plays (Caesar and Romeo and Juliet) a decade ago, so I felt like I was missing out on too many references to really understand. The characters seemed like pretentious theater kids (which they are), but you just have to surrender to it. I'm so glad I keep going; I finished the last 3/4 so quickly. I'm sure if you're more familiar with Shakespeare you'd appreciate it even more, but even with my limited knowledge I was hooked.
