Journey to the Centre of the Earth
by Jules Verne
One of those rare cases where I actually think the movie was better than the book. Speaking of the 1959 movie adaption, of course.
This isn’t a bad book, it’s just a bit dry and lacks some of the pizazz that the movie added. It reads quickly, and I found the sarcastic humor to be worth a chuckle or two, so it was worth the read. The movie is so different from the book that it’s worth checking out the book if you’ve never read it, just to see what the original story was like. That said…I’m undecided if I would ever read it again, so I’m rating it three stars.
