I wanted to like this book, but there were many parts of it that I felt were really unresolved. Mainly the ghost, Alice, and her ability to touch/move things in the corporeal world. I really thought the author was going to address this more throughout the book-- how she figured out she had this skill, why she had this skill, if the other ghosts had or wanted the skill, etc.
At the end when Trenton leaves the gas on so the house will be set on fire and Alice will be freed-- why couldn't Alice have turned the gas on herself, if she had the skill to touch things? And why didn't she just let go of whatever she was holding onto and go away on her own like the other ghosts?
The concept of this book was interesting, but ultimately, there were too many mini-story lines and none of them were flushed out enough for me to really end up liking the book.
