The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis
4.0

Here’s what I liked: LGBTQ representation, feminism, books and library’s, dark twists, and not everyone getting a happy ending. Here’s what I didn’t: We spend way too much time with Sadie’s story. If the 2 characters are a 90s librarian and a early 1900s feminist writer… It seems clear to me which is far more interesting, and yet, this seems a lot like Sadie’s story more than Laura’s. I wanted more of the growing romance in Laura’s life, more of her later life and seeing her actually happy. I didn’t really even like Sadie’s character. And she really irked me in the ending. Why is she fighting for a book thief to be sentenced to more jail time, then in the next breath forgiving another who never served any time? Ridiculous.
Overall, I still think it’s worth a read and one story worth being told.
