Girl Friday
by Jane Green
the author really said: tell, don't show...
the book makes a really strong case for staying single as most of the main characters are miserable in marriage and motherhood and i just think it's funny how we have to read pages upon pages at the start and throughout the book describing how miserable Kit was when married and how much of a satisfied girlboss she is right now only forher to hint at getting back with her ex-husband despite the fact that he slept with her long-lost sister???
also, she's shocked to find out Steve is a bad guy, then insists she's done with drama and claims to have become ~wise~ only for her to say like two pages later that "oh, this is Peter, a man I instantly trust"... get a grip, girl.
many characters are giving wishy-washy and maybe that was the point, but to me it felt more like poorly written.
