This book is perfect. I cried, I laughed, I cried again, I swooned, I cried again. What an emotional roller coaster and a beautiful journey of healing. I’ve been looking forward to Gabe and Tabitha’s story since I finished Lotus. I have so much love for Tabitha and Gabe. Gabe’s patience, respect, and love for Tabitha knows no bounds. He truly is book husband material. Tabitha what can I say as much as she didn’t think so, she is the definition of strength. I was cheering for her until the end.
In the book it goes between past and present as Tabitha tells an author the story of her being abducted and held captive with her college professor by a serial killer. In the present you get to see her struggles with the aftermath of the trauma and loss she endured and her journey of healing and learning to love herself and others again. Gabe is also going through a healing journey of his own after the events that went down in Lotus and dealing with the repercussions of those events.
This book was so beautifully written and was such a wonderful addition to the stories of Still Beating and Lotus. I highly recommend reading Still Beating and Lotus before reading The Stars Are On Our Side. I promise you will not be disappointed these books are absolutely amazing. Jennifer Hartmann has once again knocked it out of the park and deserves all the praise!
I received this ARC through Valentine PR and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
