My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix

5.0

One word: amazing.
This book had everything I wanted: action, love, friendship, gossip, angst, horror, gore, the whole lot!
I picked up this book after the awesome cover caught my eye in a book shop. After reading the blurb, I knew it would be something I’d enjoy, what with me being a lover of the supernatural genre and all.
The friendship that blossomed between Abby and Gretchen was pure and real. The troubles and dramas of American teenage girls in the 80s was strong and I loved the slight Stranger Things vibe I sometimes got from turning the pages.
Speaking of turning pages, I couldn’t stop. Once I started reading I found it so difficult to put the book down, and that’s exactly what I expect from a book. It’s been a while since I’ve read something that actually completely keeps my attention and drags me down into the story that I forget where I am.
Everything is so well written, with descriptions that play out so magically in your head. Due to this, some sections of the book can actually be a bit upsetting to people who are not fond of gore- that’s all I’m saying!
Overall, this book was amazing and I’m so so so glad that my eye was caught by the cover.
I’ll definitely be looking for similar books to read!
