jeccaclarke 's review for:
Debt
by Nina G. Jones
Our blog received this book for review as part of its blog tour ( http://byobookclub.blogspot.com ) and initially I was not the one who was supposed to read it.
Well...

To the person who was supposed to because I REALLY liked this book.
I'm not really sure what I expected but what I was not expecting was the roller-coaster of craziness that was this book.
This is dual POV book where we get inside the minds of Mia and Tax. Mia is the good girl. She was born on the "right-side" of the tracks. She was loved, had friends, was popular, went to a good college and has a good job. She is strong willed and always puts on a happy face for everyone to see. BUT deep down she has this need to not be strong, to not be the one that people look up to. So for one night she decides she is going to give into this need and be dominated in ways she has only secretly fantasized about.
Then there is Tax. He is not a good person, he grew up on the opposite side of the tracks and has let his thirst for vengeance rule over his life. While that vengeance has has made him successful it has broken his soul. He has one more task, one more debt to collect before he finally is at the end of his mission. BUT this one last thing ends up complicating matters beyond anyone's expectations.
There is a lot that is going on in this book. There is the back story that will eventually get you to understand the motivation behind Tax's vengeance. There are two very different characters at war with themselves over the situation they find themselves in. There is explosive chemistry and dirty, kinky sex. There are even some secondary characters that add additional depth and messed-up-ness to the mix. Did I mention the dirty, kinky sex???
This book went places I didn't expect. It grabs you by the hair, holds on tight, slaps you around, f*cks with you, and just when you think you will come down for a breather, you don't. You go through it all over again only the second time, you get f*cked with harder. Just thinking about it again, I need to shake myself out of the daze. This book is not pretty, it is not nice and doesn't make you feel happy. It is raw, gritty, kinky, rough around the edges, and oh so good.
