Wow. This is not your average woman-escapes-domestic-violence story that I was expecting. That’s all I’ll say in reference to the plot because I think the synopsis on the book itself is vague on purpose and I think every reader should go in fairly blind with this one. B.A. Paris...you are a genius.
This is a thriller if there ever was one!! It was so tense and terrifying that I could not allow myself to read it before bed because it did the opposite of relaxing me - my stomach would be in knots and every single muscle tensed at the end of every reading session. It’s been a minute since a book evoked such a reaction in me and I loved every minute of it. But I'm glad it's over now, and that it had a satisfying ending.
