How Does It Feel to Be a Problem?: Being Young and Arab in America

This book provides an excellent snapshot of a few young people who are Arab American, not claiming to represent all Arabs yet providing a set of diverse experiences. The book was published in 2008, and many of the experiences are related to the aftermath of September 11. It is sad to read this book 17 years later and recognize the same patterns still happening, both to the Arab American community and other marginalized groups. The writing style is immersive into each individual's story, even with the author as a present narrator. It was definitely challenging to read from an emotional perspective, yet easy to read through the engaging writing.
