Paper Towns by John Green

2.0

I tried to sleep on this one and it just bothered me. I was really disappointed after all the hype that John Green has amassed behind his books. The writing itself wasn't bad but I was just so not feeling the characters. I hated Margo. I pretty much resented her the entire book. Quentin was alright. I felt bad for him because for most of the book I felt like he had been taken advantage of. His friends annoyed me, particularly mister I will call all of the ladies honey bunnies... why even? Throughout the book they did get better and grow on me and I have to give them credit as friends because they definitely stood behind Quentin through this entirely too long book. Too long. I just was not a fan. I thought I was alone but as I started going through some of the other Goodreaders I felt some camaraderie and that made me feel a little better. I want to read the Fault in Our Stars because I've heard it is so good... but now I'm scared. I hope it isn't a huge let down when I do.
