First in series called Amarillo Sour. I loved the premise of Haleigh and Ian’s story and the interesting characters written throughout. The novel had my interest from the beginning straight through to the end. Themes of family, love, friendship, the importance of finding a work-life balance, and wanting to live up to expectations or overcoming perceived failures or past issues.

Perspective can be an interesting beast when you’ve been on the receiving end of mean people that don’t deserve to be in your life. More often than not, it’s difficult to overlook the mean things people say but at the end of the day you really can’t let those people get you down.

You can’t let the unhappiness and judgment of other people (especially people that aren’t worth your time) get you down, you have to keep moving forward and not let them get in the way of your happiness. It’s always easier to stick up for yourself when someone has your back and it’s important that it be a two-way street where you both support one another.

I highly recommend this novel and can’t wait for the next one!
