The Last Thing to Burn
by Will Dean
Wow, this book was extremely dark. It felt realistic, in a horrifying, makes you lose faith in humanity kind of way. The characters were three dimensional and relatable (well, not Lenn, but the others) and the story was compelling. It was a slow burn, but in a suspense-building way. I wish we had more about the protagonist's past.
Side note - my aunt's name is Kim Ly and my family is Vietnamese, this hit WAY too close to home.
