Too Close To Home
by Linwood Barclay
I’d just like to point out that the synopsis provided on the physical copy of TOO CLOSE TO HOME not only tells a few lies about the story, but actually spoils something. If you read the description, the first thing it tells you is that the Cutter family were meant to die instead of their neighbours; however, this idea isn’t even directly referenced until halfway through the book, and is not revealed until the end, making the blurb a spoiler.
Still, though, this isn’t a bad book. I didn’t enjoy it too much at first, but it slowly got better. I like Barclay as an author, and understand that he was probably under a lot of pressure when writing the follow-up to the phenomenon NO TIME FOR GOODBYE, so I can understand why this isn’t as gripping.
