Deciding between 3.75 stars and 4. As promised, this is a dark fantasy - if you are looking for romance in this particular book, you won’t find it. I’m not entirely sure where this series is headed, but I have an idea and I’m intrigued enough to continue. The characters frustrated me for most of the book but I think if a book can evoke strong emotions from me where I want to throw the book, then the author has done a good job. This was truly dark and twisted and not for the faint of heart. That being said, I will definitely continue because the last 10% really piqued my interest!
