Wicked Appetite
by Janet Evanovich
Okay, this was hilarious.
Diesel and Lizzy had some amazing chemistry and I kind of loved how easily he'd send her reeling with his comments. Lizzy's reactions to the Humbugs were hilarious and I think Diesel showed admirable restraint in not giving her what she was asking for each time. I also liked how easily he kind of integrated into her life and then took on Carl. There's clearly a history there that I find myself wanting to know more about.
Lizzy might have freaked a bit, but she definitely took things in stride. I did think it was hilarious how she just accepted both Cat and Carl. And Diesel, although she's still digging in over that which makes things even more hilarious. I liked the fact that while she admitted she didn't want to have to deal with saving the world, she still helped Diesel out. Even when things might have been more on the icky side than not.
Glo and Clara were entertaining too. I loved how Clara didn't really bat an eye at the weird things, was just mostly like "get that out of here so I don't have to explain to customers". Glo seems like a character and I have to wonder if she really had any luck with Ripple's or if that really was just Shirley. And Clara feels like she knows more about things than she's letting on.
